Patrice Rioux (aka Dj Sand) started his DJ career back in 2008, and unlike other dj’s, he had never been exposed to electronica before 2008. His love for electronic music was then discovered, as he learned to beat match in no time at all… Shortly after he then expanded his music to Electro, House, Tribal, Progressive, Techno, Tech House, minimal and eventually expanded beyond house, and into HipHop. Two years after his discovery of electronica, he found his passion for music was in the underground scene were he was offered residency at Sundaze Afterhours in the Ottawa / Gatineau area, were he was recognized as being a dj that was not afraid of getting his hands dirty and prepared to do what ever it takes to make it happen for him and the club. In January of 2010 he then joined “onethoughsandone collective” with local talent Chris George, Abe Van Dam & Luc Souliere. In February of 2010 he then opened Euphoria Afterhours as Owner & General Manager. With producing in sight and more events underway, 2010 is looking like a promising year for him.
